Leadership Built on Experience and Perspective

Somewhere along the way, Ray Cameron began to realize something about marketing: it’s never just about traffic, clicks, or clever campaigns. It’s about business. The kind with people, priorities, and pressure. The kind where decisions matter.

Today, as CEO of Intuitive Websites, Ray brings nearly two decades of agency experience to the table. But more than the titles—Director, VP, COO, now CEO—it’s the perspective he’s built that defines his leadership.

His path started in SEO, deep in the mechanics of performance marketing, but quickly evolved into something broader: helping businesses align marketing with purpose and results.

“We’re not in the traffic business. We’re in the trust business. That means helping people make decisions, not just driving pageviews.”

Casting a line, finding perspective. Ray’s way of staying grounded.

Experience & Background

Ray isn’t interested in being just another vendor. His belief is simple: a marketing agency should have a seat at the table with the executive team.

Not off to the side, checking off creative tasks, but actively contributing to a company’s vision, strategy, and growth. And that’s the kind of thinking he’s instilled at IW.

After stepping into the CEO role in early 2025, one of his first priorities was leading the IW team through a focused 5-year growth plan and refining the agency’s core values. These weren’t just exercises in vision, they were about clarity, alignment, and giving every team member the tools and direction they need to help clients succeed.

Ray has led marketing initiatives for organizations ranging from fast-moving startups to enterprises with $100M in revenue. He has guided strategy, shaped brands, and built scalable systems in senior agency and director-level roles. He’s used tools like the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) not just to track progress, but to build teams that move with clarity and purpose.

Though much of his time now is spent on leadership and growth, Ray still sees the world through a marketer’s lens. His roots in SEO still anchor how he thinks about strategy: structured, measurable, and focused on helping real people find real solutions.

Leadership Shaped by Real-World Perspective

From serving as an EMT to his ongoing work as a board member for the Colorado Springs National Alliance on Mental Illness, Ray believes that strong teams are built on trust, and that culture and clarity drive results. He speaks openly about mental health and leads with transparency to help others do the same.

Outside of work, Ray is an avid backpacker and fly fisherman who finds clarity on the trail. He lives in Colorado Springs with his wife, Amy, and is a proud dad to three adult children and “Pops” to his granddaughter.

“One of the most important things I can do as CEO is be open about my mental health. There’s still stigma, especially in leadership roles. If I can speak honestly about my own journey, maybe it helps someone else keep going on theirs.”

A big catch and a bigger smile—Ray celebrates the wins, on and off the water.

Ray’s Take on What’s Changing

Ray has spent years helping marketing teams and business leaders understand how digital strategy needs to evolve. Today, as AI becomes a bigger part of how people search and make decisions, Ray believes that traditional metrics like website traffic don’t tell the full story anymore.

“Traffic used to be the hill many CEOs were willing to die on. Now? Traffic may be down, but impressions are up. And if you’re still measuring your success by last year’s numbers, you’re not reading this year’s playbook.”

In 2024, Ray led a major shift in how Intuitive Websites thinks about success in digital marketing. He helped reframe KPIs to focus more on content visibility, audience intent, and how fast people move from interest to action. It helped clients look beyond just volume and toward more meaningful growth.

Ray also trains teams on how to adapt their content so it reaches the right people in the right places, even when clicks aren’t the main metric anymore. This idea of a new kind of SEO, or “Search Everywhere Optimization”, is the key to having your content show up in AI-generated answers, on LinkedIn, and in conversations people are having across search and social platforms.

While the strategy may challenge marketers to rethink old habits, Ray grounds it in the very principles they know by heart—clear messaging, useful content, and real expertise.
