In today’s noisy world of Web marketing and content distribution the fundamentals of sales and marketing must not get lost. Here are three of the most important.

1. Build Trust

Great content, attention to detail and an easy to use Website all work together to build trust and help you stand apart in a crowded marketplace. Trust and credibility must to be at high levels before individuals convert into sales leads or buy direct from your Website.

2. Personal Relationships

People get more value interacting with other people then vague communities or organizations. We prefer it to communications with an anonymous person, “business” or large “organization.” Put a human name and face behind your online content and make individuals at your company accessible. This also builds trust and relationships that support the marketing of your products and services. Be aware of the voice coming from your online communications and how the source of that voice is perceived. This may need to come from the very top of a company.

3. Connect with the Target Market

The voice of your content and overall brand will not connect with everyone who finds you online. However, it should connect with enough people to grow a viable company. This connection comes from your approach to content and the value received by your target market. Connected Website users become clients and customers.

Do not get so caught up in the latest Web marketing buzz such as new SEO tactics or social media and forget the sales and marketing fundamentals that will ultimately grow your business and drive your success.
