Keep your Website Simple and Direct

Are you communicating to Website users what they want or what you want?

We are working on a user testing project for a major client this week and I am reminded yet again with how simple, direct and basic Websites must be so that users understand the site’s purpose. Yesterday, one of the testing session users made a classic comment that basically sums up everything we work towards at Intuitive Websites. During his user testing session he remarked, “It seems like this Website wants to tell me what they want me to know, rather then telling me what I want to know.”

That is a very powerful comment and something that all Web marketers must have as a guiding principle. Does your Website tell its user what they want to know? This is the best definition of Web usability and simplicity.
