Websites should follow the 10-out-of-10 rule of Website usability

This is a very simple concept that is a huge challenge for many companies. Ten out of ten people that come to your Website should understand very clearly what your company does and how you add value. This is a rule we live by at Intuitive Websites when building and marketing our client’s Websites.site_usability

This rule also involves the ability to get outside of the internal language spoke at your office and talk in the language understood by all Web users on your Website and in your Web content.

User testing has shown that people find it very difficult to use your Website if they do not understand what your company does. The content on your Website, starting with a home page tagline, should clearly explain what you do. Photos with captions also help communicate your services, products and key value proposition.

Conduct a simple test with 10 people. Ask them to visit your Website home page and to respond to the following questions:

1.  What does the company do?

2.  How does the company add value?

3.  What makes this company different and better than competitors?
