Website Taglines are a Huge Part of a Sustained Competitive Advantage

Very clear and direct messaging is critical in today’s busy and crowded marketplace. Website visitors bounce around on Websites and quickly scan the page to see if there is anything of value. Aside from photography, which should always have a caption, the Website’s taglines is most likely to catch the site visitor’s attention. Strong and effective taglines draw in the user and build value.

Here are three steps to getting excellent results from your tagline

1. Clearly state the company name in the tagline or in the banner next to the tagline so the company name is very clear.

2. Include in the tagline key benefits you provide to potential customers and clients. This can be up to three benefits using around 12-15 words max.

3. Include a very clear call to action near the Website tagline and an easy to use navigation system that allows users to go deeper into the Website.

The Website tagline provides a competitive advantage by drawing people into your Website content where they are more likely to convert and become sales leads or buyers. Remember, the tagline should meet the 10-out-of-10 rule. If 10 people read the tagline, they should all understand it’s meaning. Add a strong graphic or photo to make the tagline even more effective.
